Biography
Roberto Melangola graduated in classical guitar at the "A.Tonelli" Musical Institute in Carpi (Mo) under the guidance of Maestro Andrea Orsi, with full marks. During his formative years he was awarded several scholarships for academic merits. He has to his credit numerous concerts as a soloist, soloist with orchestra, in a chamber music ensemble, as well as as an accompanist for singers. His repertoire includes pieces from the Renaissance to the twentieth century, originals and transcriptions, which he mainly proposes in thematic programs; he also performs pieces of his own composition. He has participated, also as an author, in numerous music and theater shows. He has played for important institutions and associations and theaters such as the Clarsach Society of Edinburgh (Scotland), the New World School of the Arts in Miami (Florida), the University of Bologna, the Italian-British Association of Bologna, the Friends of Music of Modena, the Dante Alighieri society and the Modena Philosophy Festival, La Magia del Borgo in Brisighella (RA), the "G.Lettini" musical institute of Rimini, the association "I Virtuosi dell'Accademia" of Montecarlo (LU), the cultural association "Libra 93" of Campogalliano (MO), the Friends of the Organ of Modena, the "Tassoni" prize of Modena, the "European Night of Museums", the Foundation "I theaters of Reggio Emilia ”, the" Freni-Pavarotti "Municipal Theater of Modena and numerous other cultural associations and municipal administrations of Emilia Romagna. He has performed in the guitar review of the conservatories of Emilia Romagna "In Corde" in various editions. He collaborates with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Italian Opera "Bruno Bartoletti". He has about twenty five years of experience to his credit. Carpi, the Higher Institute of Musical Studies "A.Peri" of Reggio Emilia, the Conservatory "FRESCOBALDI" of Ferrara and the municipal school "Vassura-Baroncini" of Imola (Bo). He currently serves at the "VECCHI-TONELLI" Higher Institute of Musical Studies in Modena-Carpi as a guitar teacher in the following courses: pre-academic, basic training, instrumental training, ensemble music for guitar and in the course Treaties and methods for the first level three-year Afam. In collaboration with the Mutinae Plectri Association of Modena, he holds summer camps dedicated to deepening the study of classical guitar. Occasionally he also dedicates himself to composition; he pieces by him have entered the repertoire of various Italian ensembles and chamber groups. He plays guitars from Liuteria Lodi di Carpi (MO).
